Ukrainian ship runs aground in Danube Delta

The Korsun ship ran aground in the Danube Delta on Dec. 20 while traveling from Giurgiulesti in Moldova towards Turkey.
The ship belongs to HoldAen Fish Ltd (Sevastopol). There were 12 crewmembers on board, the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry reported on Dec. 21.
"There were no victims or injured persons. No pollution of the environment was registered," the report says.
The Titan tugboat left the Illichivsk maritime merchant port on Sunday at 1915 to help the ship. The crew of the Korsun was evacuated to the tugboat onDec. 21at 1300. The sailors will be delivered ashore in the near future. Preparation for the towing of the Korsun ship is being conducted, the Transport and Communications Ministry reported.
