Sites to visit:

Kolomya - the name comes from the Myya creek, which empties into the Prut River. The city suffered devastation from Tatar and Turkish invasions and fires.

In the 17th-18th cent. the local population participated in the opryshky (brigade) movement. The city is famous for its master-ceramists and wood-carvers.
